That's what the doc did monday morning...<br /><br />Don't remember the big fancy name, but cleaned out the sinus's and enlarged the paassage way. <br /><br />Made it to work this morning to catch up on a few things, hope to do a full day tomorrow.<br /><br />Have some anoying drainage, not allowed to blow nose for a week while stuff heals..<br /><br />Not much real pain to speak of, mostly just a light head and tired. 30 minutes of that knock out juice screws with ya for days.

Dad had the same thing. Punctured upper palate with syinge and drained the stuff. Man I cringe when I think about that. <br /><br />One day away from surgery they went to check it and the infection disappeared.<br /><br />Ken

I know how you feel, I had the same thing done to me, twice. <br />Polyps was the issue with me. <br />When the doc took out the packing, a whole whopping 5ft of it, out of each nostril, I felt a bit weasy.<br />I'm not looking forward to the next time. <br /><br />I'm sure the doc told you not to be anywhere where it is damp, that could cause inflammation and longer to heal.<br /><br />Good luck and heal fast.<br />B.C.

Navy Doc did something like that to me many years ago.<br /><br />No anesthetic, nothing fancy, just shoved a scalpel up my nose and whacked away. When I came to I had one heck of a nosebleed.<br /><br />From that day to this my chronic sinus infections have never returned. Nevertheless, I would still like to meet that fellow in an alley someday.

My wife had that done... Horribly nasty crap. Unfortunately she went through all of it for nothing. The palyps they scraped out of her nasal cavity came back --- now she can't breath again.<br /><br />Sean

Wheeeww wee, At first Noel I was thinking on the lines of "Untold Stories of the ER" With some of the contraptions you come up with. Thought maybe yer drill slipped.....<br /><br />Glad to hear it wasn't that. I've been thinking that I need that procedure done also, but my family doc doesn't think so. Guess my insurance isn't good enough. Stay away from the pepper and hope you have a speedy recovery............SS

No packing this time. Had that one 10 years ago, MAN how do they fit that much gauze in one little nose???

I had a more radical Turbinectomy (kinda like rakeing out you nose with a sharp hoe) to clear out mine it was fun the anastesialogist missed his dose and i was in a wide awake sleep <br /><br /><br />tommays
