Has anyone used a drift sock on a river in conjunction with an anchor to stop side to side swing for bottom fishing? When I think it thru it seems like it should work, but experience is much better than guessing. My boat is a 22? Tritoon. I figure I can hook the anchor aft and put the drift sock off the bow. I will be on the lower Colorado and am guessing the current is somewhere around 5 MPH this time of year.

Any thoughts or advice is more than welcome.

Thanks

Re: Drift Sock

Define Lower Colorado specifically. I don't recall seeing current above 3 MPH very often anywhere. If it is 5 MPH I wouldn't want to be stern anchored. Other than that, plan sounds good though.

I have used that method on the Ohio. Don't hold boat rock solid but does reduce swing.
