Volvo Penta Aq125A/270... I have the Seloc manual and under winterazation it just says open drains but doesn't show where they are. I only see one at the back of the engine on the starboard side. Are there more to open?

you should have one on the exhaust manifold.Another on the line going to the manifold(copper line).the Exchanger has two of them, but only one is for the seawater. If you open the wrong one it will be anti freeze.I also crack open the impeller cover until water starts coming out as well. With all the drains open I then pour in RV antifreeze thru the stainer.I pour in until I see the stuff come out of all the low points. That way I know I have pushed any remaining water out.Maybe its not the way others do it but it works for me in -0 weather.

Harrisg if you cant see under your motor try using a small mirror it works good for finding bleeds

Trebor 0301... Thanks for the info. Because I live 35 miles north of Portland, OR it usually doesn't get to freezing until January or February. There's still lots of sturgeon in the Columbia River and I want to make sure that if I do drain the raw water, that it's not a big deal to start the boat up again. Heck, it's only 3 miles from my home to the Kalama ramp where I put in the boat. On the Columbia, we have to release Sturgeon under 3 1/2 ft and over 5ft. What a rush.

Sounds like fun out there.I never had to drain up the motor just to be safe while it sat like you plan to do.I'm sure that you don't need to add the RV anti-freeze.I would just drain up with the bleeds.I dont think you need to drain up the impeller case.If you do I think you better make sure you can back fill it before trying to crank the motor over.Maybe someone can let us both know what to do for that.
