Drain plug size?

Hi, I purchased a 1" snap drain plug locally and then ordered a 1 1/4" from iboats to replace the one in my old, aluminum, v-hull fishing boat. The 1" is too small. It sits loose in the hole. That is why I ordered the 1 1/4". The problem is that the new one is too big. It won't even fit in the whole.
Is there another kind of plug I should try? The one that is currently in there fits perfectly and looks just like the two I bought but must be a different size right? All I have found online is 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch sizes. Is there a 1 1/8"?

Did you push the lever to the side this makes it expand

Yes, thank you for the question. I did push it to the side and the 1" is still loose in the hole. However, the current drain plug fits fine.

the drain plugs are adjustable, at least the ones I have, put the drain plug in turn the handle clockwise and when you start feeling resistance flip the handle. If you have a t handle instead of a flip lever tighten until it is really snug
or you could join the "Oops I forgot the drain plug club" ( not really recomended )

You are my hero!
Seriously, I had tried that with my hands initially and nothing happened so I figured I had the wrong size. After you saying that I looked at it again and could see that it was threaded. I grabbed some pliers and gave it a twist. Now it works! Very cool.

So who wants a couple of 1 1/4" drain plugs? :D
