20220708_004117~2.jpg20220708_004128~2.jpg20220708_004203~2.jpgI recently bought a Glaston SX 175 with a Volvo Penta 3.0 GLP-A engine. I've had it out on the lake a couple of times with no issues.

While I was cleaning out the boat today, I noticed two cylindrical pieces that stick out of the engine block. One has a bolt in it, the other does not. The second one has a hole with threads but nothing was screwed into it.

I've noticed nothing leaking at the bottom of the engine compartment.

My question is, what are these cylindrical jut outs for? Should I have a bolt in both of them or is there a reason that only one has a bolt?

See attched pictures. Thanks for any help!

That's the manifold drain. Only one of them were drilled thru for the pipe plug. The plug along with ones on the motor block are removed for winterization.

Thanks for the response!

So even though there is a threaded hole in the onen without the bolt, your saying farther up in that hole it is still sealed?
