New to the board first post. Great resource guys!
My transom assembly was damaged beyond repair. I have a 2005 VP 5.7 280 HP with a DP-SM drive. I found a transom assembly but the only number I can find on the unit is 3857617-D2. You can see the # on one of the photos. I Googled the # nothing? Any idea if the pictures below is for the V8 DP-drive 1996-2006?
The local VP dealer wants to sell me a new unit PN#3868913.
Is the Transom Assembly the same on a SX and DP from 1996-2006? How about V6 vs. V8?
Does anyone see a problem with this transom assembly? Missing parts? One of the holes is not round.
