DP-G steering helmet removal

My manual says remove the trim sensor, loosen the Allen set screw and gently pry down the helmet assembly.

I can't get it to lower. It would seem to me that there would be more holding it up than just a set screw. Are there any tricks to remove this?

There is a little play in the steering helmet and I want to replace the bushings and seals.
