Thinking about switching the wire on my Cannon downriggers to Kevlar or braided line to silence the whine.
Currently running cork balls on the lines which helps, but they don’t eliminate the noise.
Are their any downsides to braid?
Running #12 weights at 2-3 kts. Rarely if ever fish and deeper than 30’. Increased blow back isn’t an issue.
