Hey guys,
A bit of a stupid moment for me, and looking for input on how to handle.
I recently purchased a 99 150 merc EFI and was unable to immediately secure any manuals for it. (Long story so I'll spare those details). I was itching to get out on the water so I opted to install a water seperating fuel filter on the fuel line immediately after the tank. (Works very well) Last night, I finally secured the manuals and to my surprise, there is a water seperating fuel filter under the cowl. I figured in 99, there was no such an animal as a wsff. Ok, so now I have 2 filters on my fuel system. Should I leave it as it is now, or remove the secondary filter that I insalled? BTW, I will be running the 10% ethanol blend from the gas station as that is the only option around here.

If it is not effecting the performance of the motor you can leave it as is. There are several others that run more than just the filter that is on the motor, and they do not seem to have any trouble with thier motors. I myself run the same setup you have , and have for several years on both of my boats. JMO
