do's and dont' for adding a splashwell any advise

i have a wareagle boat aluminum how should i go about puting a splash well in it is 17'7"long 54" bottom where to drill hole or holes how high or low 20" transom

Are you having water breach the transom? Best thing you can do is look at other aluminun boats that are similar in size that have splashwells and emulate them. The main thing you have to make sure of is that the motor will be able to tilt all the way without striking the splashwell.

Another thing you can try if it is a water issue is those plexi panels walleye boaters use when they backtroll. They effectively raise the transom height on either side of the outboard. It isn't perfect, a little water can get through the gap between the outboard and panels, but it cuts way down on water breaching the transom.

i am a duck hunter i deal with alot of rough water and back trolling in some of it some of the time i just got this boat the other boat had the problem i dont want to have it on this boat but this boat is considerable bigger than the last

wavewackers are nice, but expensive, Whitecapmfg makes them also, a bit cheaper.

But these things will reduce you ability to reach out the back of the boat to pick up your decoys.

The drain holes of my splashwell, are 6" above the waterline.
