a couple weeks ago i took my donzi 95 jetboat to a mechanic because it would'nt start. i paid $750 down payment and ,now, when i went to check on it they say that they have fixed a electrical problem and that i need to pay another $750 so that they can fix a head gasket problem. i personaly think this is too much money and when i tried to turn the boat on it wouldn't even spark. what should i do?

If it were me I would get my boat out of that shop and try to get as much of that $750 back as you can. They should be able to show you a listing of work done and parts to justify the $750. To me that is a heck of a lot of dough for no justification other than they fixed an electrical problem..

From your description, I would find a better shop that will diagnose the problem and give you a detailed explanation of the work that needs to be done and a estimate to show what it will cost. Becoming somewhat educated on the workings of your motor will also help you evaluate the estimate.

You could just about drop a rebuilt motor in for $1500

Sorry if I read the wrong things into your post, but this was my reaction..
