The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
Anyone know the technical name for this or where to get one. I need to replace it and don't know what to call it when I am looking. It is on an old Alumacraft 14". Any help would be good.
I'm not sure what the technical name is, other than "front bow plate/bracket", or similar?....That's a nice looking piece and maybe you should consider removing it and having it welded/restored by someone handy with aluminum welding. That would keep your boat more "original". Good Luck!
I believe that piece is generally referred to as a "bow cap". I would start with a phone call to alumacraft to see if they will simply sell you one. You'd be surprised how easy that is sometimes. If not...it's probably not easy at all. It would be off to salvage yards and starting the good ol' fashioned hunt.
Bow cap or bow corner cover would a WAG from me. Those and the rear corners are probably made for each boat maker in large lots and once gone are out of production. That one looks repairable. It won't look great but it should be functional.
