Don't instructions come with carb and fuel pump kits?

I got my sierra fuel and carb kits today from iboats for my 1994 15hp johnson.
I was told (not by iboats) that the kits came with instructions.
I have a clymer shop manual but am very inexperienced with carbs and fuel pumps and was hoping for as much help as I could get.
I did some searching on this forum but didn't find enough info yet to feel comfortable.
Can anyone send me in the proper direction?

Thanks

Any specialty tool required?

Carb kit, yes, fuel pump kit, no.

it was pretty simple, though.
Careful when opening it up there's a spring in there might try to take off on ya.
Use gasket remover to take the old sealant off, careful not to score the housing.
Use sealant on that same surface only (I used permatex #2).

Thanks very much.

There weren't any instructions nor papers of any sort in either kit and both were sealed packages.
I'll be fine, you'all are very helpfull and I will piece it together.

Re: Don't instructions come with carb and fuel pump kits?

Rebuilding the small square fuel pumps can be as frustrating as possible even with instructions and the Sierra kits for those do not come with instructions.

You can get instructions here: http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/Rebuilding_fuelpump.htm

or if you have the larger pump, here:

http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/rebuilding_1990_fuelpump.htm

I have the larger pump, in the link that is provided here with the exploded view, part #6 (thick gasket) wasn't in my pump when disassembled. It is included in my sierra pump rebuild kit, according to your link it is supposed to be used in my pump (1994 J15).
Should I use it?

edit;
nevermind, I found on the johnson parts diagram that this is not used.
thanks

it should have an simple instruction sheet in the package. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=244013 i don't rebuild fuel pumps, i replace them.

Is that special tool needed for the orifice/screw that is on the side of a stem that projects through the center of the float?
Sorry but I haven't been able to identify this on a parts diagram.

I am in the middle of installing the kit.
If so, is it necessary to get out?

Thanks

Re: Don't instructions come with carb and fuel pump kits?

Hooray....I successfully installed the fuel pump kit!

Now to the carb kit, the carb has been soaking overnight, I still have that question from above post though.

Wish I could locate it on a carb parts diagram for easier explanation, but basically it is one of the few brass screws/orifice on an aluminum stem that drops in the space between my float. The screw is on the side.

I am having problems uploading pics, sorry.

update.

My motor is running like a top after installing both kits.
I just got back from a long test run.
My GPS clocked me at 23.5 mph on my 10'3" Caribe RIB and how smooth it was.

I learned to not spray plugs with carb cleaner to clean em, they didn't work the next day.
