On my 1987 Alpha one outdrive I cut the shift cable in order to put the drive in forward for outdrive removal. I am at a point in the removal process where I am supposed to pull out the cable. I cut it about a 2 inches back from the bellow. Shouldn't I be able to pull the cut cable thru the bellow and out the front near the engine? Or do I have to get a good grip and pull it back out thru the bellow? One problem is that the cable is so beat up and kinked that I am not sure it will pull thru the bellow anyway. You fellows have a great forum going on here. Very helpful!!!

You can Cut,+ Rip it Out wherever you can get at it..........
It doesn't Matter if it comes out in 1 or 10 Pieces,..... Just Get It Out......

You're Replacing the Whole Cable,............

Just Get the old 1 Out of the Way,+ Install the New 1........

And replace that shift cable bellows also, or you will be replacing it later and have to remove your new cable in order to do it. Lot of extra work for the price of that small bellows.
