Doing a Yami water pump VS OMC

Gonna be doing a water pump on my 200hp OX66 for the first time. I have only ever owned OMC's, and have done many of those pumps.

Are there very many differences in the Yami pumps compared to OMC's?

Is the process basically the same? Is the shift rod release basically the same?

no shift rod release on that OX66.
do some forum searching in the yamaha forum section on V4 and V^ water pumps. I have some extensive bolt by bolt posts.

Hey rodbolt,

I have searched and searched for that post you did, but all I have found is like 35 posts that you spoke about a water pump in, haha. I have seen you mention the bolt by bolt post, in other posts, but can't seem to find the actual post with the directions.

I did find the post on BI, which is extensive and great with pics, but you had mentioned that you specifically addressed how to get the compression ring off, so I am very interested in reading your post.

Do you by any chance remember the title or when it was?
