I have a Volvo Penta AQ 125A and may need a new water pump. I've been shopping around for kits and prices and noticed many OHC 4 cylinder AQ series use similar pumps and almost all use the same impeller kit. I found an AQ171C (used) for rather cheep. Is it compatible with my AQ125A? They look the same, if not what's the difference?

I'm pretty sure that'll work. To be sure, go to www.volvopentastore.com and look up the pump for your engine, write down the part number, then look at the same schematic for a 171c and see if the part numbers match.

I used to have a AQ171, it is a DOHC interference engine. I'm not familiar with the AQ125. I have a SELOC manual for the 171 that I forgot to give the new owner when I sold the boat if it's wanted.
