Does this exhaust Elbow Screw require a washer- Have conflicting info

Hi Guys,

Should be a quick question. I have a 350 mag horizon closed cooled (0W360139) engine that I am replacing my exhaust elbows on. The Dry Joint Exhaust elbow manual from mercruiser says I need to make sure the screws to my Exhaust elbow (864591T02) requires specialized flat washers and to see mercury precision parts quicksilver accessories guide. I cant find anything on that.

Now the parts catalog on mercruisers website shows no washers in the images and there was no washer with the screw when I took the first one off (original elbow). BTW, I don't have the V-Drive version.

Is this washer an update? I would expect that they would then update the parts catalog. ?

on the oem`s there was a shoulder on the bolt head, some replacement bolts used lockwashers

Didn't know that. Wouldn't it show up as an updated part number though if that was the case. I know it shows an updated number for the exhaust elbow itself.
