Does my Clinton have a impellar?

Hi All, (hopefully Paul Moir)

I have a Clinton 7hp (dated around '74 or '75) that I have posted about before. I just read the topic on the ted williams motor, and was wondering if my motor has an impellar to cool the leg also. It seems to get too warm, also, are these things always this loud? Sounds like a lawnmower. And, I seem to have had quite a bit of trouble with this style carb. I had one just like it on a 4hp motor, and it always was very picky about the choke, and never wanted to run right. This one seems the same way, although it does run better. I have to keep it on at least half choke, and even then I can't get it to idle down enough to where I feel safe to shift. Any thoughts? Thanks

jay, i have 2 clinton 3.5hps motors, and no they dont have an impellar like the way that youre thinking. they are air cooled, so stay away from salt water.

they DO have a pump for water to cool the exhaust leg
