does my 2006 4.3l merc have vortec heads?

Im just curious, are vortec heads stock on a 2006 4.3 merc? Its the carbed version. I'd like to eventually upgrade it to fuel injection. I know most people say get a new engine, but i bought the boat new and know the engine hasn't been abused.

It's likely....but no one can tell you for sure without the serial number of the engine itself. You can usually find it on your valve covers or flame arrestor cover.
