Does it make sense to install access ports in a small fibreglass boat?

After having a foam-soaked boat some years back I am paranoid now. Would it make sense to install access ports in a fibreglass bowrider with liner, to monitor the foam? I was thinking both port and starboard of the motor, up where you normally have storage areas. Good idea, or would this cause more issues than it solves? Has anyone done this?

IMO, you're adding water ingress INTO the foam.

Properly sealed areas in a well maintained boat stored covered, plug out & bow high should have no concerning water ingress, into foam or otherwise

This is definitely a concern, a leaky port can soak foam.
