Does 96' 175 OIS idle question..

Does 1996 175 Optical ign. 60 degree motor run on all 6 cylinders on idle or does it cut out a couple cylinders until motor exceeds idle.

It has a fast start feature that keeps the idle high until it warms up to 130 degrees i think then it returns to proper idle range, usually between 700-800 rpm. All cylinders should be firing when at idle and during fast start.

All cylinders operate all the time. However, when you shift from gear to neutral, 3 cylinders lose spark for a second to assist with shifting.
