dodgy dials

when switching on blower motor on my v6 merc 175<br />i/o,my fuel,temp,oil& volt dials all move back a little. any idea why, bad earth may be.

Perhaps.<br /><br />Could also be the power supplied to the guage console drops causing the issue. <br /><br />Run a temporary test pair of wires from the battery directly. Check for a voltage drop ( any differential) from the know 12v pos to the supplied at guage(s) 12 pos. Then again at the known to be 12v neg to the supplied ground(s)<br /><br />Shouldn't be too had with a digital VOM to find a culprit.

It's obviously caused by a voltage drop but I would think your alternator/charging system would keep up with the drain. Do the gauges recover or do they stay back?<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

it does it with the ignition on with out the engine running as well
