Been a sailboat guy since 8 years old, Wife wanted a pontoon for fishing. Third outing with wife and her friend. Comming back in, I misjudged my speed and bumped the dock. I dropped the throttle to idle and slid up on the port side. Wife jumped onto the dock and tried to tie off the bow line, but I was still idling. I pulled a neat 90 degree around the end of the dock and lined up for the side. Wife yelled for me to help, so I stepped onto the dock and started to tie off; forgetting that the engine was still idling. Doing the figure eights I looked up to see the stern at 45 degrees to the dock. Yelled to the friend to turn the wheel all the way to the right; which of course banged the stern into the dock. I leaped onto the boat and shifted into neutral, in time to see everyone on the dock laughing their a** off, but the show wasn't over yet. Friend hands her shorts over to my wife without telling her that her keys are in the pocket. You guessed it; keys went in the drink. Diving in muddy water didn't yield results. Friend had towed the boat, and her spare key were in her truck. She had a sliding rear window but we couldn't get to the latch on the redneck intercom. 60$ later a mobile locksmith had us on our way. Wife vowed never to set foot on that boat again. Next weekend she was buying bait and loading the boat. I guess fishing heals all wounds.:D
