I want to install a simple light on a pole at at the end of my pier. My pier has several GFI outlets. I'm looking for a maybe 100-to-250 watt light atop a maybe 8-12 foot pole attached to a piling, that I could either direct-wire, or plug into a GFI outlet as needed. The 'official Marine' dock lights I've found start at about $1000. The cheap box store lights attached to a long 4"x4" post don't seem robust enough for the marine environment.
It doesn't have to be pretty - Industrial-looking is fine. Galvanized fence pole and conduit is fine. I like the lights covered with the conical-rice-paddy-worker-style-hats. It has to be sturdy enough to weather coastal bay storms, or cheap enough that it's not a big deal to replace.
I'm not interested in a solar light. I've got plenty of them for the pier walkway, but I need something brighter for the working end of the pier.
Any ideas?
