I'm looking for any ideas about dock piling lighting.
LED's, hardwired, Solar etc..

Also, I want to replace my existing piling caps and would like advice on installing caps and pros and cons of cone shaped vs flat caps.

Thank you

My daughter put cone caps on a few years back to discourage birds. She told me later that the same birds just sat on her boats and pooped.

I haven't done a dock, but on my deck I bought some cheap solar powered, motion activated, LED lights. I bought cheap ones because I wasn't sure how well they'd work. Three years later they still work great. I'd consider trying 'em on a dock.

At one of my local lakes a summer resident did a nice fancy job with his dock and patio.

He had solar LED lights that were builtin under the caps. They looked really sweet, gave off enough light to see to walk and see the light from a distance. It was more of a glowing light than looking at a bright light bulb.

Saltwater dock or fresh? Saltwater will make short work of low voltage or solar.
