I don't think I have one in my built in al. tank. I thouht I've read that they cause more problems than what they cure. So do we need one?

StillFishin'

The primer blub is a anti-syphon valve in a fuel tank. There is a ball in the blub that will allow gas to fill the blub and then closes to allow you to push the gas to the carbs, this also will stop gas from free flowing back to the tank.

It's a good safety feature, but do you NEED it? No.
