I have tandem torsion axles and one of them has no brakes. On the axle that has no brakes, I periodically pump grease thru the zerk fitting and the in the cavity. Is this necessary?
The manufacturer would not have put the grease zerk there if it were not necessary. And why are you greasing only the axle without brakes?? Wheel bearings need grease whether or not the axle has brakes and whether its a conventional leaf spring or a torsion axle. Neither type of suspension itself needs grease. Its the wheel bearing you are greasing.
I am greasing both axles, more importantly the one that has brakes. I dismantled and repacked this one this year and I know the importance of it. Just wondering about the other since it does not have the traditional inner and outer bearings that are required in installing a brake drum. Ok - will continue greasing. Thanks.
Huh,..?????????????????????<br /><br />Whether there's Brakes or Not,.......<br />The Hub is still there......Along with the Inner,+ Outer Bearings.......<br /><br />Obviously,... You Didn't take this apart,+ Repack these Bearings,.... Did You..??
