Do you and your guests get wet?

Hey gang,

I've just noticed in rough water my Hurricane sends excessive water into the boat when at cruising speed. Especially when going parallel to the waves. The boat handles great, but my guests, and myself get soaked... Anyone else experience this?

Unfortunately the answer is yes.

I believe the hull design (or at least on mine) does in rough water.

I've found it worse at cruising just on plane. Added a few more MPH and its not as pronounced but is for sure.

We get wet sometimes but it has to be pretty rough. I try to make sure I'm not plowing thru the waves so I cruise with the bow trimmed up a bit more when there's a lot of waves on the lake. I also try to make sure the passenger weight is evenly distributed in the boat. With my guests there seems to be a tendency for folks to migrate to the front which definitely contributes to a bow down situation.

I am looking at purchasing an 07 Hurricane FunDeck 202 OB and planned to use it in the gulf. What size waves do you tend to have problems with? I dont plan to take it out on a rough day but it isnt uncommon to have 2 - 3 ft waves in certain areas of the gulf where I plan to use it.

My boat has no problems handling the chop or waves... But if I'm not going into them, or with them, my passengers get some spray... I was in 2-4' chop all weekend, and the boat did fine... A tad on the rough side, but no big issues at all....

I get some light spray in the rough stuff with my 2100. Worst case is rough water heading into a strong wind.

i was in a decent chop for my small lake (20-25 MPH winds with heavier gusts) and a 1.5 foot chop and no problems with spray.... but bounced around a little bit.

I don't get spray but I do get waves over the bow when crossing head-on thru huge wakes. The rule I used to follow was take on wakes head-on for the smoothest ride... well we might get a smooth ride but we'll also get drenched. I've got to remember to get the bow up. My boat sits in the water with the bow lower than the stern to begin with... never figured out why.
