Bayliner 1950 capri, I am tracing fuel problems from tank to carb and after I took out the fuel pickup tube and disconected all fittings, including anti-siphon elbow part before I put them back together do I need to put some pipe thread compound or teflon tape on threads or is there a special thread sealant for marine or gasoline fittings?

Thanks

For fitting such as tappered threaded pipe fitting I use Permatex Pipe Joint Compound. Do NOT use teflon tape.

I use a SMALL amout of pipe thread sealant. Don't use too much or it can get into the fuel or restrict flow. I have seen it happen.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Most reputable parts supply stores. NAPA, ect.

The permatex liquid/paste pipe sealer with teflon would be a second choice, just don't use too much.
