DO I need a tach wiring harness?

I am currently looking to replace the tach in my boat that presently has a 115hp Mercury outboard. Since there is already a tach in place, I don't need the wiring harness, correct?

Shouldn't need a new harness... Use the existing wires, connect new tacho... good to go...
