Do I have a tranny cooler?

I have a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder (automatic). I have checked the owners manual, and can't find any reference to a transmission cooler. The vehicle is rated to tow 5000lbs, and a few people have told me it probably has one. Anyone know for sure????

The dealer will probably just guess or tell you to check the otions sticker from the window. <br />It should state right on that sticker wether or not there is a FACTORY towing package and /or transmission cooler. Chances are, if the hitch was not a FACTORY INSTALLED item but a dealer or aftermarket item then the answer is NO.

You can look at the vehicle yourself and figure it out. Look for two metal tubes of about 3/8 inch diameter running from the transmission to either 1) the radiator, or 2) a small heat exchanger mounted in front of the radiator. I'm not familiar with your vehicle in particular, but the above description works for at least 90% of the vehicles out there.
