yep, that's their take alright. i was disappointed. my 75 aristocraft is just an old boat. my 72 trisonic is , just and old boat. maybe in 15 years they will become classic. but apperently not yet. just plain ol old i guess......Their take is a classic has to be from the 60's back and have some unique styling. Anything else is just an old boat/ antique
yep, and yep......and mine is just a 32 year old boat....So my '65 MFG Niagara is a classic, but my '85 Bayliner is just a 22 year old boat?
right on bill..... i like yer attitude......Well I think "they" are wrong. I'll keep calling mine a classic. Several people at the landings have called it that and I liked the attention.![]()
So my 1959 duracraft is a classic? I like classic in this regard because I am older than the boat.Re: Do boats become Antique or just Classic?
According to the powers that be in the Antique & Classic Boat Society, any boat that is at least 25 years old qualifies as a Classic. Boats built prior to WWII and after WWI are considered Antiques, and boats built prior to WWI are considered Historic. These are primarily used in categorizing boats at shows so that all boats aren't lumped together for judging. I'm sure as time goes on these categories will be modified.
