Do 2000 8 hp Hondas have oil filters?

Hi,

I'm freaking out because I've had this 8hp for the last 7 seasons and have NEVER heard of changing the oil filter...didn't think they even had one It seems that the new models have them (according to their manuals) but the old ones? I didn't see anything about changing the oil filter in the manual.

by the way, if it DOES have an oil filter, and I haven't changed it after 7 years, that's one HELL of an engine to still be running

I see a filter in the parts diagrams...part# 15421-881-000...prox $10...it's contained in an oil filter holder close to the dipstick

Fellas, I just called a Honda dealer and they said my 2000 8 hp does NOT have an oil filter The later modles--the ones with the new space-age looking engine covers--DO have them. I think they started coming out in 2001 or 2002. Whew!
