Do 1969 johnson 6 hp motors "pee"? I recently bought one and it does not have a water stream coming out anywhere. I know if the water pump is working properly.

No, a 1969 does not have a tell-tale, you could add one if you wanted one.
You should see water coming out of the exhaust, or being able to hold your hand on the head for a three count.
However, water will spit out of the exhaust hole.
The hole is in the back, in the middle of the mid section.
It'll spit out a noticeable amount.
If its a dribble, your water system needs attention.
Probably not deep enough in the barrel, the 6's have to be fairly deep, made this mistake with my 68. You won't see a stream, just water coming out of the exhaust as the rest said.

they make a curved piece of metal with a layer of rubber in it, that has a plate with two springs on it to hold it tight against the water intake...i have one...works great.....
basically looks like it would cover the bridge of your nose( thats the sahpe)
but i think they are rare...i ahve only seen one!!!!
