Hello all,
I recently bought a 2001 Bayliner Capri 2150BX. It has the little deck on the back with the ladder, but it is not big enough for my kids and myself to actually sit on. I was looking into swim platforms, but they are outrageously priced from what I can tell.

So, has anyone built their own swim platform? Any good advice? Materials? etc.

I watched a couple youtube videos about them and have a good idea what I could do. I just wanted to see if anyone here did the same?

I made my own 'custom' swim platform.

Probably a bit more elaborate than what you may be thinking, but it certainly can be done.

I am not sure you will save much money, if any over some of the commercially available platforms, unless you do something really basic. The biggest concern would be to make the platform's supporting structure strong enough.
