Has anyone done the do-it-yourself shrink wrap? Is it easy/effective/worthwhile/cost effective?

Re: DIY Shrink wrap - pros & cons

I considered this a while back and looked into it for as much as I could find on the subject. The major objections to it seemed to be: easy to tear wrap and that it did not allow moisture to escape. The moisture isue killed it for me since it is so humid here and I want my boats to dry as much as possible when not in water. Good luck with it whatever you decide.

Re: DIY Shrink wrap - pros & cons

there are vents u can install to address the moisture issue. other than that i found it to be too expensive. i suppose if the kits were well built & u could reuse them every year it may be cost effective. even so, u will still need to buy the wrap every yr. plus your time & labor to do it. i'd rather spend the $$$$ on a good cover. remember also that once u wrap your boat u can't access your boat without cutting into the shrink wrap.
