Came across this interesting info . It's especially interesting considering the lack of newer style 15 HP carbs available vs the abundance of old style 15 carbs available ( plus I've got a few laying around ) so I thought I would share this with my brothers.

Click the spoiler here:
Modifying old style "All Metal" 15hp Carb choke to fit new style motor, (93-07)... very simple. Remove old choke butterfly, shaft and arm connector. Cut the brass bushing flush to carb body and drill a hole on shaft for a tapered pin. Re-install and make sure no binding, might need to cleaned a bit with mall round file....and voila!

Notice than on the first pic, I have installed the electric primer pump to the right of carb. I be posting an additional Mod on how to get rid-off the whole carb choke butterfly/shaft, and convert the "all metal" carb to primer style, so I can start it remotely.

Also, disregard the two pics with old style cam follower, Use newer style w adjusting allen screw. The distance between the old style cam follower to throttle plate on tray is diff than the new

Enjoy

So it looks like the old carb is a direct fit . The only issue is the modern choke lever. To make it fit, take it apart, grind it for clearance, drill a hole and install a pin . The rest is plug and play.
