My boat mech. moved this year and I wasn't able to diwinterize my boat before he left. I have a 2009 Volvo Penta 4.3 GL/SX and I need help finding the last drain plug petcock. The ones I have found are the 2 exhaust petcocks/plugs, the plug on the starter side totalling 3. I read that there was an additional one on the other side of the block, but I can't seem to find it. I checked out this forum and the folks here seem to know what they are talking about. PLEASE HELP.

personaly, i don't know what i'm talking about nor do i know vp. however this might help. choose your service manual and if it's like a mercruiser service manual it'll have pics leading to where the drain points are.

here's a real lame response for ya. start her up and look for the leak... bet that'll lead ya to the drain point pretty fast...

with other luck, maybe some one will come by and straighten ya up quick.

Ayuh,.... It's There,... 'bout midway along the bottom edge of the block, just above the oil pan, just ahead of the oil filter, or the boss with the hoses goin' to a remote oil filter...

Go to this link http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopent...lication_search/pages/publication_search.aspx the put in your FULL model number or serial number and download the owners manual. It shows the drain fittings.

PS Ziggy has the cool fact of the day and it's not lame at all.

Don't spend more than 10 t0 15 seconds at idle rpm to look for the leak, it could be on the intake side.
