distributor springs

i have a 87 sea ray with a 3.0 mercruiser the boat strarted running bad so i pulled the cap of and looked around in the dist and found that the two little springs inside where both broke in half cant find the any where does any body know where i can find them at.

if you cant find any for merc any hotrod shop should have some but they have to be the same tension. try a used parts boat yard.

You should be able to get a "dist recurve kit" at napa or auto zone. they come with new weights (dont use them) and a couple sets of new springs. just use the ones that the instructions say are as close to stock as possible.

there you go that should do it but being it is a boat it cant be that simple can it?

PS: Pick the wrong ones, and you can loose an engine.
