Re: distribution panels
Rpdoug
Welcome to the board. I think you would do a lot better to post this in the boat section. A lot depends on how your boat is set up, One Battery or Two. I would probably take it back and get a bigger panel.

First thing you need to do is find a spot where you want to mount your panel. Iteam you listed all low amp so can get by with pretty small wire.
Before you start though ask your self if this is all you will add, or will you later add a VHF radio, GPS, Depth Finder, AM/FM Radio, Compass, Horn, ect.

Next need to add up the amps for each device you have to be installed. Looks to be less than 20 amps to me. So I would go buy a 12 ga wire with a red and black wire cover by a outer cover. Disconect the battery. Get a 20 amp fuse holder and hook it up to your main battery. Now hook your Red wire to to other end of fuse holder. Hook Black wire to engine block or neg battery connection. Run wire to area of your new fuse panel. Here the red wire will hook to the of each fuse or main bus bar. Each device will then be wired to the output of it's switch. The Black wire will hook to a ground buss bar or terminal block with a ground wire to each device.

If you are going to add more stuff later then you can save money by getting bigger switch panel now and useing heaver wire to battery with a bigger fuse. For 30 amps use 10 guage wire.

Good luck.
