Disconnecting the oil injection on a 1989 90hp Merc

whats the easiest way to disconnect or bypast the oil injection on a 1989 3 cylinder Merc?

Take the discharge from the pump and " tee " it into the suction for the pump.-----Just let it recirc the oil.------Easy to put back into service by next owner perhaps.

the reason i'm thinking of doing this is that the motor had sat for 3+ years and the tube from the oil pump to the fuel pump had an air bubble. I replaced the tube and bled the air out but when I started the motor it looks like gas is being force back in the tube from the fuel pump instead of oil going into it...or is this just normal happening at idle speed?
