Happy New Year to All

As I am waiting 2 weeks for my OEM service manual to come in (ugh!)I was going to "get started" changing the water pump impeller on my 2000 Yamaha C90. My question is how do you disconnect the shift rod? Do you even have to? I don't see a way to disconnect it near the powerhead or anywhere along the shaft.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bud

Splined shaft..Just drop the lower. Put in foward gear first. Makes things easyier if you ask me.

Bud,

Yes, real easy those Yamaha's. No disconnecting of anything other than the bolts. Don't forget the one under the zinc tab.

Actually you may have to disconnect the hose for the speedo pickup that intergral in the lowerunit. Piece of cake, you will see it.

John
