Installed new kodiak disc brakes, backup solenoid, new lines, new actuator. Went with the kodiak brakes, because alot of people were experiencing premature problems with the tiedown brakes sold by champion trailers.

The difference was between night and day. My old drum brakes were all rusted and the brake cylinders were fused together with rust.

Drum brakes are impossible to flush since everything is covered, but the disc are all exposed.

Now the trailer will actually stop.

As a trailer Manufacturer (Hi-Tech trailers), I agree with you on the Kodiac ECoats. They are expensive and we are using them on the 10K Tandems and the 15K Tri-axles. The Tie-Downs are working great on the 6K and 7K trailers with no warranty problems. We sell approx 60 to 100 trailers a month.
