Re: disappearing island

Try to hangout on the south side where it's deeper or you'll have to watch the tide big time.

Put in at NSB north causeway and go north on the icw.

The icw turns west before you get to the inlet, taking this turn and then making a right at the next channel brings you in the back side and is easier then the channel from the inlet.

Both if you just take your time you'll be fine.

There's a stage on the north end and that's where the big parties are

The west side has a real small channel that runs behind it too.

Just 6 miles south of Daytona Beach; right at Ponce Inlet. About 60 miles south of St. Augustine. That's where we are headed after we leave St. Augustine!

I'd love to go there some time. Maybe next Florida voyage.:)

Re: disappearing island

If you left St. Augustine by 7:00 am, you could be at Ponce Inlet well before noon...

...just sayin'...:)

So... Are you just sayin' if we left St Augustine... Meaning June 18th:rolleyes: How 'bout we hang in St Augustine, and at some point during the time your at DB for the summer, we can make arrangements to meet up and head there together.:)

...just sayin';)

Sounds like a plan. We'll be at the island almost every weekend throughout the summer. Drive down to DB (90 miles south of Jax) and we'll spend the next 12 hours on the water.

Only problem I see, is... We're jacking this thread. Hope the OP doesn't mind. Maybe we can covince'im we're simply expanding the scope of activity.;)

We aren't going to make it there till the end of June. Although only 30 miles away, it takes us a 250 mile trip to get there (not that I'm complaining!!)

After that, we'll be there just about every weekend. Just look to the SW point of the island for the white/black Carver and the humongous (sp?) island float. Come say hi!!

Next time we get out there we will look for you. Currently the boat engine is down.

Is this the same engine that and friend and I helped pull the plastic cowlings off of at the island? If not, we helped a guy a few weeks ago with the same rig you have! He has water in the gas and choked out the carbs.

We were there this Saturday...ripping outgoing tides and anchor not grabbing. Basically a crap day even tho the weather was nice, it wasn't relaxing at all.
