I've been thinking of switching to havoline oil as I can get this for about $1.50 a quart. I'm currently using valvoline. Any thoughts about havoline?

Texaco (Havoline) makes quality oil.

You didn't say which one of their oils you plan on using, or what the application is, but they make a variety of oils that will meet your specifications (100% synthetic, synthetic blend, dino and 2-stroke). If you can save some money, then I would recommend doing just that.

Chevron, Texaco, Havoline, Same thing now, but who knows if the oil formulations are the same? I would say that the Havoline would be my choice as there oils have better base stock right now compared to the Valvoline. There oils are now mostly a hydrocracked product. There is a chance that the Chevron supreme and havoline are the same oils. Check MSD sheets to find out. Better price if they are.
