diffrent warning beep's? what do they mean?

since i've owned this motor, i've heard two or three diffrent beeping noises. anyone know where i can find out what diffrent beep's mean? i know when the oil resivor is low beep. the one i can't figure out is the warning that beeps over and over very quickly and get's louder and quieter. would it tell in an old owners manual? it's a 91 evinrude 250. thanks...james

Yes, your owners manual should provide the info on identifying the alarms.<br /><br />1 One short tone every 40 secs-low oil<br />2 rapid short tones - no oil<br />3 continuous tone and engine will not operate above mid speed - overheat<br />4 continuous tone and engine will operate at or near full speed - fuel restriction.
