Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a "2 stroke Yamaha 90 HP" and a "2 stroke Yamaha C 90 HP" motor. What does the letter "C" signify? Thank you.

I'm not sure if the "C" stands for cheap or commercial but the "C" version normally does not have all the bell and whistles, oil injection, stainless prop, gauges, etc.

The "C" does stand for commercial, not cheap as in cheaply built.

Those Yamaha C90hp are known to get thousands of hours. Great reputation.

Most commercial guys want simplicity, hence, the lack of Oil Injection. Other than that though, they are the same as the regular Yammie's. (i.e. PT/T etc.)

I got screwed on a deal for a brand new one about 2 months ago, where a guy was going to sell me it for $4300 ! I'm still steaming over him welching on the deal.

John
