Differences between mercury 2.5/3.5

Hi!

I recently bought a mercury 3.5hp.


Now I am looking for the specs on internet, and I see that the 3.5hp is the same dimension, same weight, same propeller etc as the 2.5.

So what is the difference? Did I pay for a bigger number on the same outboard or in facts the 3.5 is really more powerfull?

I will see a difference on the water between the 2
5/3.5 or not?
