Hey guys just wondering what are the visible differences of the v1 and v2 powerdrive a? I noticed that the v2 is all black and says powerdrive v2 on the base, but some minnkotas look just like that and say powerdrive ( with no v2) this is confusing to me cause I thought the powerdrive was the white boxy looking motor, that looks totally retro compared to the new v2's. I am going to look at a black powerdrive tomorrow that does not say v2 but is certainly not an original powerdrive. Thanks guys!

Just like cars and boats, appearance of products changes over time. Power Drives have been around
for decades. If the motor does not say v2 it is not a v2. Analog vs digital are the difference. V2's have different connectors to avoid interconnection issues.

Easy enough. Thanks silver.

Hey Silver I have another question for you. I was looking at a Riptide 70lb. thrust bow mount. Is there a way to tell if it will work with Ipilot or not? The ad also says it is foot control. I thought all of these motors came with copilot:confused: MINN KOTA TROLLING MOTOR

Teh Riptide SF and SM are hand control units so there can be no co-pilot/ipilot/Auto Pilot features.
The other three foot controlled versions have Auto Pilot and iPilot. Go to the web site to learn about these features.

Gotcha! Thanks for the input. I actually have read up on the motors, and I am trying to figure out if the motor in the ad will work with Ipilot. Not sure how to tell if it is digital or analogue. Any thoughts?

If it's a current model it is digital and it makes no difference if it is hand controlled or electric steer.
