...metric people...
The dispatchers figure it out along with needed fuel, etc, using a standard weight per person. I did read once that there are times they have to calculate more like for a charter of a pro football team. Dispatchers do all the planning for a flight, All an airline pilot has to do is fly the airplane. I remember reading 30 or so years ago the standard weight per person was jumped from 150.How do airline pilots determine total " passenger load " before roaring away.
My parents flee down to Florida a few years ago. There were 5 passengers on the flight plus crew. They were told to sit in their ticketed seats for takeoff and landing but could move to any seat they wanted while in flight. This more or less explains that. I kind of figured it was for ease of calculation but never thought to ask anyone. The dispatchers figure it out along with needed fuel, etc, using a standard weight per person. Nah , they got the wrong way round fer sureThe question came up on another site about why the difference between 2 or 3 persons. Being forty or so years since I was involved on the administrative end of such things I had no idea. I tried to bluff my way through it and told them metric people are heavier but they saw through it.View attachment 413618
